Hun Wine Advert - Kodak Awards

Watch Hun Wine Advert

The Hun Wine Advert was a small project for the Kodak Awards submission. This project was unique in that we used analogue film cameras and reels. as I was editing this I was unfortunately ads hands off as you can be with a camera (however the camera op allowed me to load the camera as I had been practising just in case I got the role of the camera op myself previous to the project starting. Unfortunately we had the film processed digitally and as a school couldn't afford to have the reel back to chop on an old Steenbeck machine we had in our editing room (no matter how long I begged) however I took this time to learn Avid Media composer pre digitisation. I found the program daunting at first but it was all well streamlined and has become a program I have a fantastic understanding of. If I wasn't as versed in creating effects and using the Adobe program it would absolutely be my first choice of program. I ended up using Avid for this project after my practice. I also took the opportunity to hop back into Da Vinci Resolve for the second time and have a better go at grading in co-ordination with what the

Cinematographer had envisioned when doing the lighting, they wanted a bright and vibrant colour scheme and I believe I Achieved this, making the warm colours pop more than the cold to create a humble environment. Although, I will be the first to admit it was over done. Having not really used the program its clear to see I over did it in parts, I wasn't happy with it when I had finished the grade however the cinematographer did, this wasn't a clash of heads however I chose to conform to what the cinematographer wanted, however my only regret is not fighting more for my own ideas and believing that their word was final, rather than it being an open communication that should be had.
