about Me
I am a Video/Film Editor based in the North east of England with a passion for everything Post-Production! I also have extensive knowledge and interest in camera work to pair! I am a recent graduate from The Northern School of Art Graduating with Second class Honours. I used my time at university to sharpen my editing ability, learning the ins and outs and gaining an above impressive proficiency with a variety of software including: Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Audition, Avid Media Composer and Da Vinci Resolve! getting the opportunity to work with these industry grade software has only deepened my passion and understanding of the Post-Production world! During University, mainly during my final year, I began to freelance more as an editor to remain busy, I was able to learn to be a bit more versatile with what work I can do, taking on various corporate, online an/or promotional material in order to keep myself busy and my abilities sharp, I continued to do these jobs even after university until I landed my current job:

I am Currently working as a Videographer and Editor for an MMA School Based in and around the York area. This has turned out to be a bit of a bigger job than I anticipated, it is not often as a new graduate you are given the opportunity or responsibility this job entails yet I have the ability to manage this job and to a high standard as well! Although the job isn't what it says on the tin its something I am good at, I have to manage multiple social media accounts, make sure high quality content is going out daily, organise, film and edit projects both long term and short term as well as report to a promotional meeting every week to review, decide what we want to post in following weeks as well as bring my own creative input to projects. It's a rare corporate job that gives me a decent amount of freedom as a more creative editor to create content I believe in.

My current ideal future job would be to edit more creative projects, maybe as part of a Post-Production house, or as a consistent member of a film crew. Enough about my career however, now yo talk about me as a person.

I have always been a bit of a geek when it comes to technology, so it was no wonder I took an instant interest in film production and its many intricacies and dedicated a decent chunk of my life creating content although a lot of my pre college content should and will never see the light of day, although some of my first videos are still floating around in places under various YouTube aliases, such as my very first video (it was an origami video and it was essentially just raw footage, I wasn't exactly a budding film director at this point, sorry to disappoint) I got into video editing during my first year at college, I had bought myself a subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud to practice photoshop before I took on a media course and wanted to try some of the other apps too. I used some old game clips I had saved onto my then Xbox and decided to try learn and imitate some other gaming videos I had watched- into this video here! Although mediocre (and definitely not copyright friendly), I was hooked, I dedicated the next year to various small, however vastly more creative projects in order to build up a small portfolio to try and get into university - and the rest is history!

During my time at university I developed not only in my editing skills but in my knowledge and skills within the whole production line, I challenged myself to learn all the roles I could to get an understanding of the various moving pieces that go into production, I knew this was the industry for me! I went as in depth as you could get into each role, understanding what made film scripts work, how to speak to actors professionally, how to create stunning visuals with both the camera and lighting, the various grips of the camera and how to record and edit sound properly!
To round off this bio I may as well mention my top 3 films:
Submarine (2010): My absolute favourite film of all time, so charming and blunt yet so emotionjal, this film is visually stunning and something I love to incorporate into my style at times. Every line means something or carries significance later in the film, something I always keep in m,ind when writing or helping to write scripts Alex Turners sound track to this movie is also wonderful

Aftersun (2022): Absolutely heartbreaking film. I adore the familiarity of it. me and my family used to go on the same holidays, and so it is nostalgic, however the struggle of the Paul Mescals Character is something I think to an extent I can relate to being a young adult, not feeling like you're in the right place at any point and is an amazing representation of the usually taboo subject of male mental health, as well as the toxic way that men deal with mental health in a way to conceal it.

Living (2022) Another more recent film, not sure if they're my favourites because I remember these films a bit better but this film is still incredible. It's such a classic format of a hard faced person who opens up his heart in the face of extreme or particularly difficult times. This film has a natural transition from one extreme to the other, mortality is a perfect event to catalyse the transformation and is a very nice way to look at life in retrospect!
